Insights from the Regulatory Roundtable on AI Social Readiness
The roundtable brought together regulators to examine how AI is being used across the public sector and what “social readiness” means when these tools affect vulnerable people. Drawing on insights from Social Work England, Ofsted and NESTA’s Centre for Collective Intelligence, the discussion explored how regulators can balance the benefits of AI with the need for fairness, safety and public trust. Participants reflected on emerging regulatory uses of AI, the value of public engagement in assessing new tools, and the importance of shared learning as the sector navigates both opportunities and risks.
