We are inviting member organisations to host one of our in-person training courses and receive a complimentary place on the course. This is a great opportunity to bring high-quality regulatory training directly to your organisation, while offering your team the chance to learn alongside peers from across the regulatory community. Hosting also provides a valuable opportunity to showcase your organisation and build connections with other regulators.
We are currently looking for venues to host the following courses: Essentials of Regulation (one day), Fundamentals of Regulation (two days), and Masterclass in Regulation (two days).
We are looking for venues that can accommodate up to 20 people, with a room suitable for group learning and discussion.
If your organisation is interested in hosting, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with Robyn Ingham, Events and Projects Officer, at events@ioregulation.org.

Essentials of Regulation is a one-day, in-person course designed to introduce the core concepts that underpin effective regulatory practice. Developed in response to delegate feedback, this course is an evolution of our previous Understanding Regulation course, with refreshed content, enhanced structure and an even stronger focus on practical application.
Ideal for those new to regulation or looking to strengthen their foundational knowledge, the course explores key themes such as why regulation exists, how regulatory frameworks operate, approaches to enforcement, and the tools used to assess regulatory impact.
Delivered through a mix of expert-led insights, practical examples and interactive discussion, the course encourages participants to think like a regulator and apply concepts confidently in their day-to-day roles. It also provides a valuable opportunity to connect with peers from across sectors and build networks within the regulatory community.
The course is led by Professor Martin Lodge, Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at the London School of Economics. A leading expert in the field, Martin brings regulatory theory to life through real-world examples drawn from a wide range of sectors, creating an engaging and accessible learning experience for all participants.
