Family Business UK (FBUK) is the largest organisation in the UK dedicated solely to supporting, representing and championing family businesses. We play a critical role in increasing awareness and understanding of the sector, influencing government policy, and championing the model of private business and family firms. This is an exciting time to join FBUK, at a pivotal time in the organisation’s history. We are embarking on a new and ambitious direction of travel, and are looking to recruit individuals who are ambitious, commercially minded and driven to create change and have an impact.
As we continue to drive our policy agenda forward, we are seeking a Public Affairs and Policy Director to identify key policy areas that matter most to our Members, ensuring that their voices are heard at the highest levels of decision-making. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape policy that directly affects the UK’s family business sector, championing their contributions and securing the right conditions for their growth and sustainability.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing FBUK’s public affairs, policy and research strategy, engaging with senior policymakers, government officials, and key industry stakeholders. You will also play a key role in strengthening FBUK’s political networks, ensuring that family businesses remain firmly on the policy agenda and representing FBUK in the media, at external events and conferences.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with significant experience in public affairs, policy development, and stakeholder engagement.
