Job Title: Policy and Research Manager

Salary: £40,000

Contract: Full-time

Location: London, but hybrid - 2 days a week in office

Application Deadline: Friday 14 March 2025

Family Business UK (FBUK) is the largest organisation in the UK dedicated solely to supporting, representing and championing family businesses. We play a critical role in increasing awareness and understanding of the sector, influencing government policy, and championing the model of private business and family firms. This is an exciting time to join FBUK, at a pivotal time in the organisation’s history. We are embarking on a new and ambitious direction of travel, and are looking to recruit individuals who are ambitious, commercially minded and driven to create change and have an impact. As we continue to expand our reach and influence, we are seeking a Policy & Research Manager to help expand our policy reach and presence.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to shaping policy that impacts family businesses across the UK. You will be responsible for monitoring key policy developments, conducting high-quality research, and producing consultation responses, reports, and briefings. Working closely with the Policy Director, members, policymakers, and industry leaders, you will help develop well-researched policy positions and strengthen FBUK’s influence.

In this role, you will play a key part in stakeholder engagement, ensuring FBUK remains well-connected with decision-makers and experts. You will contribute to policy communications by drafting content for FBUK’s website, social media, and newsletters, as well as supporting the organisation of policy-related events, roundtables, and discussions. Your work will also involve briefing FBUK leadership on important policy issues and providing support for meetings and committees.

The successful candidate will have strong research skills, attention to detail, and a keen interest in public policy. This is a dynamic and varied position and we are looking for candidates who are highly organised and adaptable, with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple projects. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for policy research and advocacy, we would love to hear from you.
