Ofqual is the independent qualifications regulator for England. We currently regulate 200+ awarding organisations, and approx. 11,600 certified qualifications. These include GCSEs, AS and A levels, and a broad range of vocational and technical qualifications. Regulating on behalf of students of all ages and apprentices is central to how we fulfil our statutory objectives.

About the team

As Director of Delivery and Performance you will be responsible for leading Ofqual’s regulation of awarding organisations to secure ongoing compliance.   

What will the post holder be doing?

An important part of this role is leading Ofqual’s work to meet its national assessments related statutory objective. 

You will lead Ofqual’s work to ensure general qualifications and National Assessments are safely delivered and are fit for purpose.

To be successful in this role, you will have an understanding of qualification standards and delivery and knowledge and understanding of the education sector. Having experience of risk and analysis is also essential.

You will have the ability to work in a pressurised environment, demonstrate good analytical skills, both written evidence and numerical data and have proven stakeholder management experience.
