About the Role:
The Jersey Care Commission is an independent regulator responsible for the registration of health and social care professionals and the inspection and regulation of health and social care services in Jersey.
The Commission regulates a wide range of services for adults and children, including care homes, day care provision, home care services, children's social work services, children's homes, fostering and adoption services, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). In 2026, the Commission's remit expanded significantly to include the regulation and inspection of hospital, Government of Jersey provided mental health services and ambulance services. Appointment of Commissioners
The Chair of the Jersey Care Commission is seeking to appoint two Commissioners to join the existing Board. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about improving the quality, safety and effectiveness of health and social care services and who can provide strategic leadership and constructive challenge at Board level. Applicants should have Board or senior leadership experience and expertise in one of the following areas:
Mental Health
Experience at Board or Director level within health or care services, particularly mental health services.
Knowledge of the Mental Health (Jersey) Law and the wider mental health sector.An understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing mental health services.
The ability to contribute confidently to strategic discussions and decision-making at Board level.
Children's and Social Care Services
Board or senior leadership experience within social care services.
Knowledge and understanding of children's social care, safeguarding, fostering, adoption, residential care, or related services.
An appreciation of the challenges and opportunities within the social care sector and a commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.

Appointment Details
Appointments will be made for an initial period of three years. Prospective applicants should note the relevant disqualifications set out in Schedule 2, Paragraph 4 of the Regulation of Care (Jersey) Law 2014.
