This role is dual banded, pay bands 8/9, where pay band 9 represents fully meeting all competencies, allowing for development within the role.

The role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you’ll:
Design and implement analytical workflows to extract meaning from complex datasets.
Use techniques including data transformation, visualisation, statistical modelling, and data science to generate insights.
Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Support the development of analytical methodologies, systems, and processes.
Collaborate with Analytics Engineering and the wider organisation to ensure data meets business needs and is accessible via the OfS data model.
Build and maintain self-service data applications for internal and external users.
Advocate for an evidence-led culture and contribute to enhancing the organisation’s data capability.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is:
Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
A strong communicator, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Logical, analytical, and pragmatic in problem-solving.
Experienced in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Familiar with the modern data stack and agile working practices.
Essential skills and experience:
Strong SQL and/or Python (or equivalent language).
Experience with application of artificial intelligence solutions, statistical methods, data modelling, cleansing, enrichment, and/or visualisation.
Knowledge of Databricks or similar platforms.
Understanding of GIT and version control.
Awareness of government DDAT capability framework for data analysts.
Ability to manage projects and deliver at pace.
Competency in communicating and influencing across diverse audiences.
