Chair and Non-Executive Board Members

Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority (CIISA)

Salary amount: Chair £50k p/a; Board Member £20k p/a

Contract type: Part-time

Location of position: Hybrid

Application deadline: Wednesday 17 April 2024 (midday)

Job description

The Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority, CIISA, is a new body being established to uphold and improve standards of behaviour across the creative industries, including preventing and tackling all forms of bullying and harassment of a discriminatory nature.

We are now looking to implement the governance arrangements to support CIISA’s launch later in 2024 by establishing the CIISA Board and appointing the Chair and its first four members. Once established, CIISA’s Founding Chair, Dame Heather Rabbatts, will stand down and become CIISA’s Patron.

The role
CIISA’s Board will be its governing body, working with CIISA’s Executive Team to bring our plans to fruition, setting CIISA’s strategic direction and providing oversight of delivery. It will ensure that CIISA maintains its independence and impartiality - crucial for its credibility – and that it is building confidence and trust in its service offering within all sectors of the creative industries.

Who we’re looking for
We welcome applications from individuals from across the UK with either senior leadership experience in the regulatory sector or who have senior leadership experience of one of CIISA’s initial creative industries (Film & TV, Music, Theatre) but who are not engaged or employed within it (currently or in the recent past) to protect CIISA’s independence.

Applicants must have the passion for making a difference and the energy and commitment to help us realise our vision. These roles are remunerated with an anticipated time commitment of up to 2 days per week (Chair) and up to 1 day per week (Non-Executive Board Members) during the first year to support CIISA’s development during this critical period, reducing thereafter.

How to apply

For full information on the roles and the skills and experience we are seeking and our independence requirements as well as more information about CIISA, please see the role profiles. More information about CIISA can be found on our website at www.ciisa.org.uk.

To apply, please send a CV and covering letter (max two sides A4) setting out how you meet our criteria and what you would bring to the role to boardrecruitment@ciisa.org.uk by midday on Wednesday 17 April. Please also complete and return the diversity monitoring form.

The recruitment process is being overseen and administered by an independent governance consultant, Victoria Finney. For further information or an informal discussion, please contact Victoria at boardrecruitment@ciisa.org.uk.
