We are looking for a Chair for our Public Protection Committee.
The Chair will automatically become a member of the Board of Trustees for BACP.

The committee provides strategic leadership and advice to ensure BACP takes a cohesive and pro-active approach to public protection.

The Public Protection Committee (Committee) holds delegated responsibility for developing the public protection strategy of the Association, including:

1.   Provide strategic leadership on public protection, ensuring BACP’s approach is forward-looking, proportionate, and aligned with its charitable objects.

2.  Maintain a horizon-scanning perspective on emerging risks, sector developments, and opportunities to improve public protection through innovation and collaboration.

3.  Ensure that the public interest remains central to BACP’s strategic decision-making and organisational direction.

4.  Promote a preventative and outward-facing approach to public protection, championing public engagement, awareness-raising, and accessible communication to build trust and support informed choices across the public and profession.

5.  Ensure BACP maintains a coherent and strategic approach to public protection by aligning and applying regulatory best practice across its frameworks, professional standards, accreditation processes, ethical codes, safeguarding and education and CPD activities.
