Job Title: Regulatory Investigations Officer

Salary: Starting salary £41,898 increasing to £46,551 by annual increments

Contract: Full-time

What you will do

The Regulatory Investigations Officer carries out all aspects of fitness to teach casework, including case adjudication, investigations, decision-making, and officer support for fitness to teach hearings. The Regulatory Investigations Officer must ensure cases are investigated properly and determined fairly and lawfully, with reference to applicable policy, guidance, and any defined process.

The role currently focuses on adjudicating our fitness to teach work. This involves liaising with parties, issuing case management directions, chairing case management discussions, and providing procedural advice to panel members considering cases at both panel meetings and fitness to teach hearings.

What you will need to be successful

You have a bachelor’s degree (SCQF level 9) or equivalent vocational or work-based training.

You have an investigation qualification or agree you will undertake an investigation qualification if appointed to the role.

You have experience in regulatory casework or equivalent.

You have worked in a role where you had to demonstrate effective decision-making and provide advice.

You are an excellent communicator and have experience building and maintaining effective working partnerships with external users and partners.

You have high-quality written, research, analytical, influencing and advocacy skills.

Working Hours / Pattern

We see this role as full-time, 35 hours per week; however, we would still like to hear from you if you are interested in the role but have alternative needs regarding working hours or pattern.
