The Understanding Regulation course offers an intensive introduction to some of the core concepts and approaches in the field of regulation.
This one-day course seeks to:
facilitate a ‘regulatory analysis’ perspective that builds on an appreciation of different regulatory approaches and concepts
provide space for mutual exploration and discussion of regulatory experiences
enable you to confidently apply these concepts in your day-to-day work so as to support your organisation’s broader approach towards regulation.
The course does not require any prior knowledge of theories and approaches in regulation. The sole prerequisite is to join the conversation in the spirit of mutual learning.
During the day, the course will cover themes such as:
different approaches and theories of regulation
alternative ways of regulatory standard-setting and regulatory enforcement
debates regarding regulatory excellence in view of stakeholder engagement and smart regulation.
