The Principal Analyst will be a member of the evidence leadership team, working with one other Principal to contribute effectively to team management, programme management and delivery of our analytical activities.  This role has a particular focus on statistics, data science, knowledge synthesis and communication.  Two statisticians report into this Principal Analyst, with expectation of further staff arriving in the future.    Principals in the team support the Head of Profession in delivering the data and evidence strategy, ensuring that our organisation achieves its vision of becoming a modern, evidence-led regulator.  You will: Lead a team of two Level 4 statisticians, with expectation of adding further Level 4 and Level 3 staff in future, most likely in mixed methods and knowledge transfer professions. Plan and deliver analytical projects, from inception to reporting, to support our statutory reporting obligations and our regulatory activity. Support staff to maintain professional standards, with reference to profession-specific competence frameworks. Coach and develop staff to provide high quality, innovative analysis that meets user needs. Quality assure analysis and reporting to ensure that it is robust and fit for purpose. Contribute to workflow management for the team, ensuring that we have a manageable pipeline of work. Assist in developing our quantitative analytical function, adopting new processes and techniques, including machine learning.
