Job Title: IT Business Support Analyst
Salary: £31,908 - £32,644
Contract: Full time
Location: Bristol
Application Deadline: Noon 8 September 2025
About the role
Technology is only part of delivering high-quality IT services at the Office for Students (OfS). We’re looking for an IT Business Support Analyst to play a key role in supporting the delivery of first-class IT services and systems across the organisation.
This is a dynamic and varied role that blends financial administration, asset and contract management, and programme support. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring our IT operations run smoothly — from tracking budgets and managing supplier contracts to supporting project delivery and coordinating team logistics.
If you're highly organised, thrive on detail, and enjoy working collaboratively across teams, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
• Financial Administration:
Ensure all IT expenditure is compliant with OfS financial controls, including raising purchase orders, receipting invoices, and supporting budget forecasting.
• Asset & Contract Management:
Administer the IT asset portfolio, ensuring compliance throughout the lifecycle. Track contracts and work closely with Procurement to ensure timely renewals and replacements.
• Programme & Project Support:
Assist IT Project Managers with financial and administrative aspects of their projects, including resource tracking and governance support.
• Team Coordination:
Provide general administrative support to the IT team, including booking training, conferences, travel, and accommodation.
• Governance & Assurance:
Support licensing, supplier management, and Freedom of Information requests, ensuring compliance and smooth operations.
Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for a positive and proactive team player with:
• Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines reliably.
• Good analytical skills to support financial tracking, resource management, and reporting.
• Clear and confident communication, both written and verbal.
• Accomplished use of Microsoft Office 365 tools, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams — well versed in leveraging this toolset to support the delivery of your work.
• Working knowledge of financial processes, including raising purchase orders, receipting invoices, and tracking expenditure against budgets.
• Attention to detail and a self-managing approach, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
