We want to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive Parliamentary Engagement Officer to help us deliver our Parliamentary Engagement Plan during the forthcoming year leading up to the General Election.
The Professional Standards Authority promotes the health, safety and wellbeing of patients, service users and the public by raising standards of regulation and registration of people working in health and care. We are an independent body, accountable to the UK Parliament.
In a newly created role, the Parliamentary Engagement Officer will join our Communications Team within the Standards & Policy Directorate. You will be working within a small communications team which also provides corporate support for our stakeholder engagement activities. We are a busy and ambitious team looking for an organised person with good communications skills to support and enhance our plans.
The role is a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2024, with the possibility of extension to 31 March 2025. As a Parliamentary Engagement Officer you will report to the Head of Stakeholder Engagement & Communications.
A core aim of our Parliamentary Engagement Plan is to increase awareness of the work of the Professional Standards Authority among parliamentarians and contribute towards the shaping of regulatory policy by governments across the four nations.
To succeed in this role you will have:
Good understanding of UK governments and parliaments, and their policy-making processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels, including specialist and non-specialist audiences and to communicate persuasively
Ability to produce clear and concise advice papers, briefings, and reports
. You will have experience of:
Working productively with a range of multi-disciplinary internal teams
Confidently representing an organisation with external stakeholders

We offer hybrid working which will initially be for three days in the office and two at home and will move to two days in the office and three working at home per week after the probationary period. We also offer flexible working.
